This Privacy Policy explains how PPP TV — a service of Ngomma Value Added Services Limited, a company
incorporated in Kenya ("PPP TV", "we", "us", "our") — collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you use
the PPP TV app and pppfan.com (together, the "Service"), including PPP TV Handles, Live TV comments and voting, and the
Meet Up social feature. We process personal data in line with the Data Protection Act, 2019 of Kenya and
the regulations made under it. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy together with our
Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who we are
PPP TV is operated by Ngomma Value Added Services Limited, which acts as the data
controller for the personal data described here. For any privacy matter, email
prsp@ngomma.com.
2. Information we collect
Account & PPP TV Handle details: your phone number (verified by OTP), display name, and handle.
Meet Up profile, if you choose to create one: bio, profile photo, birthday, gender, county, and any
social media handles you add.
Content you post: photos, videos, text updates and polls shared to Meet Up, and comments and votes
you submit on Live TV.
Messages you send other members through Meet Up chat.
Payment records for PPP TV Handle purchases and paid introduction requests — processed by our
payment partner (Safaricom M-Pesa/Daraja); we do not store your M-Pesa PIN or full card details.
Device & usage data: IP address, device/browser type, and app usage diagnostics.
3. How we use your information
Create and run your PPP TV Handle and Meet Up profile, and show your content to other members as you've configured.
Operate Live TV commenting, voting, and (where you opt in) airing your Meet Up content on the PPP TV broadcast — see
section 4 below.
Moderate content for safety, using a combination of automated screening and human review.
Process PPP TV Handle purchases and paid introduction requests.
Send service notifications (comment replies, likes, follows, messages, moderation outcomes) and, where you've agreed,
promotional updates.
Investigate abuse reports, keep the Service secure, and meet our legal obligations.
4. PPP TV airing & your consent
Some Meet Up content may be shown on PPP TV, our linked live television channel, in addition to being
visible inside the app. This is handled separately from ordinary profile visibility:
Your explicit choice controls broadcast. When you upload a photo post, you decide — separately, post
by post — whether to tick "Also show on PPP TV". Leaving it unticked means that post is only ever shown inside the Meet
Up feed and your profile, never sent to the TV channel. Videos are never eligible for TV airing.
What ticking the box means. It is your consent for that specific photo to be broadcast on a live,
public television channel, which may be viewed by a large general audience, screen-recorded or photographed by viewers,
and is outside our control once it airs.
Moderation still applies. Every photo, whether or not marked for TV, is checked by automated content
moderation before publishing; a photo that fails moderation is never sent to air, even if you ticked the box.
You can change your mind for future posts at any time by leaving the box unticked, or by deleting a
post — deleting removes it from the app immediately, though we cannot recall a broadcast that already aired before
deletion. If you need a specific already-aired clip addressed, contact us (section 13).
Your profile photo, bio and social handles themselves are never broadcast — only individual posts you explicitly
tick.
5. Content moderation
We use automated tools to help screen photos, videos and text before they're published or aired, alongside human review
for content flagged as borderline. Decisions that significantly affect you — such as rejecting a post or restricting an
account — are subject to human review on request; contact us if you believe an automated outcome was wrong.
6. How we share your information
With other Meet Up members, as you've configured — a published profile's bio, photo and social
handles are visible to other members; your phone number and full-resolution photo are only ever shared with a specific
member after you personally accept their introduction request.
With PPP TV viewers, for any post you've specifically opted to air (section 4).
Service providers who help us run the Service: cloud/media hosting, our payment processor
(Safaricom M-Pesa/Daraja), SMS/email delivery, and AI providers used for content moderation.
Authorities, where required by law or to protect rights, safety and property.
We do not sell your personal data.
7. Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active, and thereafter only as needed to meet legal, tax, dispute, or
fraud-prevention obligations.
When you delete your account, your profile, posts, photos, videos, comments, messages and follows are erased
immediately. Two categories are kept afterwards, and nothing else is:
Payment and payout records, for up to 7 years, as required by Kenyan tax and
financial-record-keeping law. These are held against an anonymous account number that no longer carries your name,
phone number or email address.
A secure archive of your deleted content, for 90 days, held solely so we can respond to a lawful
request from a court or the authorities that arrives shortly after deletion. It is not used for any other purpose, is
never visible in the app or to other users, and is erased automatically once the 90 days elapse.
We keep one permanent minimal record: that an account with a given handle existed and was deleted, and a one-way
cryptographic hash of the phone number that held it. The hash lets us answer a lawful enquiry about a specific number
without retaining the number itself. See Delete Your Account & Data for the full
breakdown and how to delete your account.
8. Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act, 2019 you have the right to be informed, access a copy of your data, correct it, delete
your account, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent (including PPP TV airing consent for future
posts), and complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) of Kenya
(odpc.go.ke). Email
prsp@ngomma.com to exercise any of these rights.
You do not need to email us to delete your account: open Profile › Settings › Delete my account
& data in the app and it happens immediately.
9. Age requirement
PPP TV Handles and Meet Up are for people 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect data
from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Security
We use technical and organisational safeguards — including encryption in transit, access controls, and automated
moderation before content is published — to protect your information. No system is completely secure, but we work to
keep your data safe and will notify you and the regulator of serious breaches as required by law.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows when. Continued use of the Service
after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
For any privacy question or request, email prsp@ngomma.com. You may also
complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner, Kenya, at
